Add Images to LinkedIn and Twitter Profiles
Did you know that LinkedIn and Twitter now let you add a custom image to your profile page? Here’s our LinkedIn Company Page after we added a photo of our lobby:

Straight North on LinkedIn
If you are a LinkedIn administrator, you should see prominent directions for uploading an image when you visit your company’s home page. Images can be cropped to 646 x 220. NOTE: Image uploading does not seem to work in the Chrome browser. We were able to upload our image by using Internet Explorer.
On Twitter, you can upload images on the “Design” option under “Settings.” Recommended dimensions are 1200 x 600. Here’s what our Twitter profile page looks like:

The white text and avatar that appear over the image are pulled from your Twitter profile information. You don’t have any control over the text color or positioning, so you may have to play around a bit to find an image where the text displays clearly.
Add Personality to Your Profiles
These new image options are an excellent way to add personality to your social media profiles, as well as a branding message. For LinkedIn, this is a great enhancement, since previously company pages were incredibly sterile.
